Commercial Trucks Collide in Fatal Montgomery Crash

A crash on Wednesday morning between a delivery truck and a tractor trailer on Neelytown Road in Montgomery resulted in two fatalities.

Major Joseph A. Tripodo, Troop F Commander of the New York State Police reported that Brian A. Mettert, 26, of Fallsburgh was driving a 2014 Hino box delivery truck at approximately 6:55 a.m. when he veered into the other lane.

Mettert then crashed into a 2015 Freightliner tractor trailer which was being driven by 53-year-old Everett Biggs from Smithton Missouri.

Major Tripodo reported that both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers from the New York State Police were assisted by the Collision Reconstruction Unit, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Computer Crimes Unit, Troop F Traffic Division, and the Town of Montgomery Police Department, as well as the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office. The Maybrook and Campbell Hall Fire Departments and Mobile Life Paramedics also responded to the scene.

The investigation into the crash remains open.
