Last month, we reported on 8-year-old Cinnamon. She was hit by a car and brought to Crate Escape Rescue in the Hudson Valley. Luckily, she escaped with only a minor injury and to the surprise of staff from the rescue shelter, Cinnamon was chipped.

Cinnamon's owner dismissed the idea of coming to pick her up and, instead, asked the shelter if they had any puppies up for adoption because the family was interested in getting a new puppy instead of taking home Cinnamon, according to Crate Escape Rescue.

We hoped if we shared the news about Cinnamon, Hudson Valley residents would help her find a new home. Turns out, it did. Our article was shared over 2,000 times and the rescue shelter credits the article with helping find Cinnamon a new home.

"Many of you, and yes we mean MANY have took an interest in Cinnamon’s story. It was recently picked up by a local broadcast station and received over 2,600 shares. Applications and adoption requests have been flooding in since her story was published and we couldn’t be more grateful for the outpouring support of our senior girl," Crate Escape Rescue wrote on Facebook on Friday.

The rescue shelter received over 100 adoption applications. After pouring through the applications, Crate Escape Rescue was happy to announce on Friday Cinnamon has been adopted.

"Cinnamon has found her home sweet home, and will never be unwanted again," Crate Escape Rescue said.
