3 Hudson Valley Men Charged With Felony DWI

Three Hudson Valley men were all arrested for driving drunk for the second time in a 10 year period.

On Saturday, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Christopher J. Principato, 41, of Amenia for driving while intoxicated with prior convictions within 10 years, aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Around 3:30 a.m., troopers pulled Principato over on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley. During the traffic stop, police allege the 41-year-old was drunk.

Principato was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Also on Thursday around 1:30 a.m., 25-year-old Konstance C. Parker of Poughkeepsie was pulled over on Main Street in the City of Poughkeepsie for an alleged equipment violation.

During the stop it was determined that Parker was driving drunk, police say. He was charged with driving while intoxicated with prior convictions within 10 years, aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, and operating without a court-ordered ignition interlock device.

On Monday, Saugerties police were called after someone noticed a driver stumble out of his car at the Simmons Plaza.

The driver, 59-year-old James Carrubba of Ruby, told police he took prescription medications and was drinking alcohol, officials say.

He was arrested for driving while intoxicated with prior convictions within 10 years, a felony.
