Ulster County Couple Found With Large Amounts of Cocaine, Weed, More
An Ulster County man is facing felony charges for cocaine and weed possession. A woman living with him was also charged.
Early Wednesday morning, members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team, Urgent, and uniformed Village of Ellenville Police patrols executed a search warrant at an apartment on Park Street in Ellenville.
The search warrant led to the discovery about 17 grams of powder cocaine, just over two ounces of marijuana and drug packaging materials, police say.
Arrested at the scene were 28-year-old Carlos A. Andino-Lopez and 23-year-old woman, both from the Ellenville apartment.
Andino-Lopez was charged third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, all felonies.
The woman was allegedly found with a small amount of weed in her possession and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Andino-Lopez was arraigned in Ellenville Village Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secured bond. The woman was released with an appearance ticket. Both will return to Ellenville Village Court at a later time for additional proceedings.
