
Still in the Deep Chill on Tuesday
The National Weather Service extended the Wind Chill Advisory through tonight and into Tuesday morning. Overnight temperatures will dip to a dangerous cold. The Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until 7am Tuesday morning which means that people heading back to work from the long weekend and kids at the bus stops need to take extra precautions to stay warm.
Layers tomorrow will be very important when planning what to wear out the door. Be sure that you wear gloves and even a hat. Exposed skin will be subject to freezing temperatures and you can risk frostbite with prolonged exposure to the early morning temperatures which will be in the single digits even before you calculate the wind chill. Your car may need have trouble starting in this weather. Keeping jumper cables and a winter safety kit in your car is a good idea. Also, remember animals must be sheltered in this weather. Animals can suffer from exposure just like people.
