State Police Still Investigating 1988 Murder
The New York State Police are still investigating the 1988 murder of 24-year-old James Neailis of Monticello. State Police believe that the victim's death was drug-related, having discovered his body on August 16, 1988 after a narcotics investigation led to his remains.
Police say that the victim was last seen at the Down Under Bar in Monticello on July 31, 1988. The victim's last known place of employment was the Arc of Sunshine Car Wash in Monticello. State Police have indicated that they have extensively interviewed friends and family of the victim and leads have taken investigators throughout the state.
