Even a lock couldn’t protect a Hudson Valley gym goer from having his wallet stolen. Police are accusing a local man of breaking into a gym locker and stealing personal items.

The Orangetown Police Department arrested 26-year-old Gerard Campitello, of West Nyack for grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, and criminal mischief, and petit larceny, misdemeanors.

Campitiello was in the locker room at the Vision Fitness Center in Peal River when he allegedly forcibly removed the lock of one of the lockers and took another person’s wallet.

Police say the wallet contained money, identification, and credit cards.

Campitiello was arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and remanded to Rockland County Jail.
