Police: Dutchess County Woman Walks Out of Walmart With 2 Carts Full of Items
A Dutchess County woman is accused of stealing two shopping carts full of merchandise from Walmart on Christmas Eve.
On Dec. 24 around 3:15 p.m., the Ulster Police Department responded to reports of a larceny located at Walmart Superstore, 601 Frank E. Sottile Blvd. in the Town of Ulster.
According to Walmart Asset Protection, 41-year-old India M. Reed of Poughkeepsie, filled two shopping carts with merchandise and left the store without paying for it. The total value of the merchandise was determined to be $1,437.66, police say.
Reed was found by authorities and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court at a later date.
