New York Bicyclist Killed By Tractor-Trailer in Hudson Valley

An investigation is underway after a Hudson Valley bicyclist was killed by a tractor-trailer.

On Saturday around 1:30 p.m., members from the Kingston Police Department's patrol division responded to a call for help regarding an accident involving a bicyclist and tractor-trailer.

The accident happened in the area of Broadway and East St. James Street in the City of Kingston.

Officers arrived on the scene and found the bicyclist with severe injuries. The bicyclist was later pronounced dead by the Ulster County Medical Examiner. Police did not release the name, age, gender or hometown of the bicyclist.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation. Members of the Kingston Police Department's Detective Division, Ulster County District Attorney's Office, New York State Police and the Ulster County Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating.
