A car was pulled over in the Hudson Valley for a broken taillight. Police say during their investigation they found a loaded gun.

Friday around 1:00 a.m. State Police from Hawthorne patrolling the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh stopped a Hyundai Sonata for allegedly having an inoperable tail light.

Authorities say as they approached the car they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle unlawfully possessed a loaded unregistered revolver handgun and an expandable baton.

Saul R. Colon, 20, of Bronx was charged with 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony, and 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.

Colon was arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
