Man Killed Riding On Top of Train in Hudson Valley
A 24-year-old lost his life after he climbed on top of a moving Metro-North train in the Hudson Valley.
The train from Yankee Stadium to New Haven, C.T., left the Bronx around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Thirty minutes into the ride, between Larchmont to Mamaroneck, two brothers attempted to climb from inside the train to its roof.
Michael Vigeant, 24, of New Hampshire was killed after he climbed on top of the train and was electrocuted by the overhead wires. Train officials were able to safely bring down Vigeant's brother, but Michael touched a catenary wire and was electrocuted, MTA officials say, the New York Post reports.
According to the New York Post, Vigeant was a Boston Red Sox fan returning home after watching the Red Sox lose 10-1 to the New York Yankees in the Bronx.
It's unclear why the brother's climbed on the train's roof.
