Long Investigation Leads to Dutchess County Man’s Arrest
After a nearly three-month investigation, a Dutchess County man is accused of a home burglary.
On November 10, 2016, New York State Police from Poughkeepsie were dispatched to investigate a residential burglary that occurred on Salt Point Turnpike.
Police were told that someone unlawfully entered the complainant’s home and stole jewelry.
Following a nearly three-month investigation, 27-year-old Matthew A. McDonald, formerly of Staatsburg, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony. Authorities would not reveal how their investigation led to McDonald’s arrest.
McDonald was arraigned in Town of Clinton Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Clinton Court on Feb. 10.
