Local Woman Makes Global News After Finding ‘Doorknob’ in Food
A Hudson Valley woman made news across the globe after she claimed she found a "doorknob" in her Taco Bell nachos.
In early July, Hudson Valley Post was the first to report on the news about Eve Saint who posted a photo to Facebook in which she claimed an unwanted item was found in nachos she ordered at the Fishkill Taco Bell.
Saint initially thought it was a "doorknob" but later said she learned it was a "nacho cheese handle."
Saint told Hudson Valley Post she ordered the nachos on July Fourth. She told us she called Taco Bell to complain and was told it was "impossible" for the item to end up in her nachos and was hung up on. She says she then called back over and over again with no one taking her call.
When someone finally did answer, she received an apology and was offered some discounts.
"I found out its the pump of a cheese dispenser. They hung up on me and told me I was lying then offered me a free nachos," Saint confirmed to Hudson Valley Post in a message.
After Hudson Valley Post reported the story, media outlets from the United States and across the globe also reported it.
“We take this very seriously. The franchisee that owns and operates this location is looking into this matter and strives to make things right with the customer," Taco Bell Corp said to Hudson Valley Post in a statement.
