Labor Day Crackdown Leads to 11 Arrests in Dutchess County
Eleven are accused of driving while impaired in Dutchess County.

New York State Police and police from Dutchess County reported 11 arrests for DWI or impaired driving during Labor Day crackdown.
The Labor Day High Visibility Engagement Campaign was conducted throughout Dutchess County between Aug. 21, and Sept. 5. Participating Law Enforcement Agencies included the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Town of Poughkeepsie, City of Beacon, City of Poughkeepsie, Town of Fishkill Police, Town of Pine Plains, Village of Wappinger Falls, Village of Red Hook and the Village of Millerton Police Departments.
Impaired Driving details consisted of directed DWI Saturation Patrols throughout the county in addition to the participating agencies’ regular patrols.

The goal of the Labor Day Impaired Driving Crackdown as all other crackdown periods was to discourage people from driving impaired, promote awareness, and keep the roadways safe, police say.
Below is a list of arrestees:
- Jesse Margiotta, 28, of Beekman was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a felonly and a misdemeanor for DWI
- Nicolas Rivera, 28, of Poughkeepsie was charged with felony DWI.
Misdemeanor DWI:
- A 23-year-old from Fishkill
- A 23-year-old from Hyde Park
- A 47-year-old from Nevada
- A 23-year-old from Hopewell Junction
- A 40-year-old from Poughkeepsie
- A 22-year-old from Poughkeepsie
- A 27-year-old from Dover Plains
Misdemeanor DWAI Drugs:
- A 32-year-old from Poughkeepsie
Violation DWAI:
- A 38-year-old from West Haven, CT
