There is a store in Beacon New York that recently made the list of 'Best Wine Shops of 2023" according to the all-knowing Wine Enthusiast Magazine. While I am bummed they left one of my favorite West Coast stores off the list, I have to give them props for including a 'Hidden Hudson Valley Gem' on their prestigious list.

What can you expect to find? You will not find gallons of Carlo Rossi or bottles of Yellow Tail or Apothic, but you will find hand selected items that you just might not be familiar with. My visit to the store had me overwhelmed with unique options of familiar varietals like pinot noir, but then there were grapes like Furmint and Plavac Mali. This is the type of store that you will share with the owner what type of wine experience you are looking to have, then they will suggest a bottle, you will buy it and you will love it. The sad thing for me is that when I do love a bottle, sometimes I go back and it has sold out, and now that this store has national recognition (that the greatly deserve) there is going to be more people in the shop, when I want to go shopping.
