There is no where else to park and you spot an opening, only to find out that you would be blocking a driveway? Should you do it? Go ahead and park there, you'll only be a few minutes, right?

Is it legal to do that, park in front of a driveway blocking it from other traffic or from the home or business owner to whom the driveway belongs? I am trying to think back to whether or not this was covered in drivers education class, anyone? Anyone?

Browns Driving School, based in Wappingers Falls NY.

According to their website they teach all aspects of driving, from regular cars to CDL training. Spending the last 30 years or so in the Hudson Valley area of New York, this was the place I thought of first.

Dutchess School of Driving, Hopewell Junction NY

This is the other driving school that I see constantly helping people learning how to drive. I think either one of these two companies could help us polish our driving habits.

The answer to this question is mostly no, with a little bit of yes. Here's the breakdown, if you do not own the business or residence that you are blocking then no, you cannot legally park in front of that driveway. If you own it, go ahead and block it. Just make sure that the registration on the car matches the address that you are blocking.
