Country Music Icon Toby Keith Passes Away

On Monday night, February 5th 2024, we learned that country music icon Toby Keith passed away at the age of 62. Keith had been battling stomach cancer since 2022.

In July of 2023, it was reported that the tumor in his stomach shrunk in size, leading many fans to believe that he was getting better. He then performed 3 sold-out shows in Las Vegas in December of 2023.

Needless to say, Toby Keith's passing sent shockwaves through the country music community with artists and fans alike.

Hudson Valley Bakery Pays Tribute to Toby Keith

As the days go on, country music artist are sharing their stories and memories of Toby on social media. Thomas Rhett shared his story growing up around Toby and about his time opening up for Keith in 2012.

There are also some Hudson Valley tributes making the rounds. A Fishkill, New York bakery is raising a glass, or should we say a cookie cup, to Toby Keith.

Most country music fans are familiar with Toby Keith's song Red Solo Cup. To honor Toby's life and career, The Cakery in Fishkill is selling a Red Solo Cup cookie with lyrics to the song printed in frosting on the treat.
