A Hudson Valley town has been named one of the "Most Christmassy" towns in America!

The Hudson Valley is one part of New York State that loves to get into the holiday spirit yearly. No matter what town you are in from Kingston to Poughkeepsie to Middletown and Monticello there are at least a few houses on every street that has some holiday decorations put up. Whether it's lights around the whole house, inflatables in the yard, or something as simple as a nice wreath on the front door, the one thing the Hudson Valley doesn't lack is holiday spirit!

Is There One Hudson Valley Town that's More Christmassy Than The Other?

Yes, we think some areas do more around the holidays as far as decorations go than others, but did you know that one Dutchess County town has just been named one of "America’s Favorite ‘Christmassy’ Towns" for 2023? The website Mixbrook has just released its yearly list of the top 75 Christmassy towns and a few New York towns made the list this year. To come up with an accurate list the folks at Mixbrook conducted an extensive survey of 3,000 families to try and find what towns they would visit to "spark that Christmas joy." They weighed numerous factors to decide the top 75 including, holiday celebrations, live seasonal music, performances, and much more.

Out of the 75 towns that were recognized on this year's list New York grabbed 3 spots with the town of Skaneateles, New York nabbing the number 73 spot on this year's list and a bit closer to home...

Rhinebeck, New York scored the #23 spot. If you've ever been to Rhinebeck around the holidays you are well aware that they do feel Christmassy. Great decorations, a welcoming vibe, and the yearly Sinterklaas event all helped Rhinebeck make the only Hudson Valley appearance on this year's list.

Three Most "Christmassy" Towns in America are...

Lake Placid, New York scored the #3 spot, the highest for any New York town this year! Many say that the small-town charm of Lake Placid along with the snow-covered Adirondack Mountains offer one of the most stunning holiday backdrops anywhere. Durango, Colorado, grabbed #2 due to its "blend of natural beauty and historic charm" as well as numerous holiday celebrations and activities for families to enjoy.
