Terrific Margaritas And Where To Find One In The Hudson Valley
I realize that not everyone might be looking for a margarita in February but maybe this week you should give our list of tasty margaritas a once over. This Thursday is National Margarita Day.
Frozen or on the rock a margarita could hit the spot this week. I enjoy a margarita no matter how cold it might be outside. I also tend not to get them frozen. Yes, when they are frozen I end up with a slushy brain every time.
Where to Get a Great Margarita in the Hudson Valley
When I realized we would be celebrating the margarita this week I went on a hunt to find you some places you could head to to grab a tasty version of this basic cocktail: tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime. Almost every restaurant with cocktails offers some version of the margarita so if I left off your favorite please comment below.

Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar in Kingston, New York on the Rondout is the first place I ever tried a Margarita Flight. Part of its signature drink menu it currently comes with 4 different margaritas on board, Apple Cider, Toasted Coconut, Orange Ginger and Blood Orange.
Along with Ole Savannah, I also spotted margaritas on other restaurant menus including Savona's Trattoria in Poughkeepsie where you can get what they call the Italian Margarita. It is guaranteed to pair with all the Italian specialties.
The National Days Calendar has tried to fill in some of the facts about the margarita but the truth is no one quite knows who was responsible for the first margarita. Tequila, lime, and salt have been pals for a long time so the natural course was that one day they would be a cocktail not just a shot.
When Was the First Margarita Mixed at a Bar
The first known discussion about the margarita is said to have taken place around 1938. And in the 50's the margarita was making its way onto magazine covers. I guess you could say the rest is history.
National Margarita Day is so popular it even has an official nationalmargaritaday.com. Many of your favorite Hudson Valley restaurants will be offering specials. Chili's has announced they will have $5 margaritas all day.
