Goshen, NY Student Wins Prestigious High School Football Award
A Hudson Valley high school student received a prestigious sports award.
12th Man Award Goes to Hudson Valley Student
The Goshen Central School District is celebrating one of its student-athletes. The school district shared on social media that Nathan Dershem took home the 12th Man Award from the New York State High School Football Coaches Association.
The 12th Man Award, according to Goshen School District, is "awarded to a single athlete in New York State who overcame adversity, disability or medical hardship."
In the Facebook Post Goshen's Athletics Director, George St. Lawrence, writes:
Nathan is a tremendous kid who has not let his disability stop him from being involved in athletics. He has contributed to our teams and has been an inspiration for his teammates in both football and wrestling."
More photos from the award ceremony can be found on the school's Facebook page. Congratulations, Nathan!
