Ben Noll Calls This the “Nicest Forecast of the Year” for the Hudson Valley
Ben Noll Predicts "Nicest Forecast of The Year" For the Hudson Valley
October is in full swing, but the first few days felt more like the end of August.
With that being said, it looks like the Hudson Valley is finally dipping its toes into a true fall forecast. Everyone's favorite meteorologist Ben Noll is calling it the "nicest forecast of the year."
According to Noll, if Mother Nature follows through and there is no rain on Sunday October 11th, 2026, that will mark quite the "dry streak." Noll writes:
If it doesn’t rain in the Hudson Valley on Sunday afternoon and the entire week ends up being dry, then the region will reach a 13-day dry streak — the longest in over a year, since September 2025.
Noll adds that he doesn't take this "nicest forecast of the year" description lightly.
Enjoy The Dry Fall Weather While You Can, Hudson Valley
Ben Noll said that a cold front brings in "brisk winds" that will also "usher an air mass from Canada."
We learn that temps are going to "drop into the 30s for the first time since May" by Tuesday October 6th and Wednesday October 7th.
Noll has a piece of advice for Hudson Valley residents: "Enjoy the dry weather and sunshine while it's around" adding:
At some point in the months ahead, probably during November, a shift toward stormier conditions is expected.
I think all of us in the Hudson Valley will heed Noll's advice and worry about the stormy colder weather when we get there.

The Old Farmer Almanac explains "The wider the rusty brown sections (or the more brown segments there are), the milder the coming winter will be. The more black there is, the more severe the winter."
Many woolly bears in New York State this year have a long brown section this year.
