One of the Hudson Valley's biggest and best fairs is looking for help this year.

If you've lived in the Hudson Valley for a while you are well aware that summers in the area are known for lots of fun activities, things like hiking, camping, and spending a day at Splashdown Beach are all signs that a Hudson Valley summer is underway! Another staple of a Hudson Valley summer is the opening of the yearly Dutchess County Fair.

County Fair in Rhinebeck, New York

The 178th Dutchess County Fair will run this year from August 20th through the 25th at the fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY, and like years past will offer rides, food, and amazing entertainment. If you've been before you know that each year is better than the next but have you ever thought about working at the fair? If you are looking for a week's worth of work and possibly future opportunities the Dutchess County Fair is hiring.

Security Guards Needed

The Dutchess County Fair is currently looking to hire numerous security guards for the upcoming fair and is now accepting applications according to the fair's Facebook page. They are seeking "mature, friendly, people-loving professionals" who are interested in working in a lively environment. They are offering various job assignments during the six-day fair including gate access control, grounds patrol, show & perimeter security, VIP protection, and other special assignments. They are offering various shifts as well including day, evening, midnight, and overnight shifts with flexible start times.

Security Job Requirements

Most of the security jobs offered at the fair this year require all applicants to be New York State certified security guards, (certified guards start at $20 per hour). If you have been certified before and need to be recertified or need to take the required security guard pre-assignment course it is being offered at Columbia Greene Community College at 4400 Route 23, Hudson, NY.
