A Hudson Valley man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing and raping a young girl multiple times over a 14 month period.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office between September of 2010 until November 30, 2011, 25 year-old Yordy Lopez, of New Rochelle, sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl, performing multiple acts of sexual abuse and rape.

When the sexual abuse acts began Lopez was 19-years-old.

Lopez was arrested in April of 2015 following an investigation by the New Rochelle Police Department and Special Prosecutions Division of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

Tuesday in Westchester County Court, Lopez was sentenced to nine years in state prison.
