Hudson Valley Man Charged With DWI on ATV
A man with a prior DWI conviction is accused of driving drunk in the Hudson Valley on an ATV.
On Monday around 1 a.m., Saugerties police stopped an ATV that was driving on Echo Hill Road.
The driver, 25-year-old Theodore J. Nelson of Saugerties was found to be intoxicated, police say. Nelson was charged with felony driving while intoxicated because of a previous DWI conviction from October 2013 in Saugerties.
Nelson was also charged with aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, operating a motor vehicle without a court ordered interlock device, operation of an ATV on a public roadway, operating an unregistered ATV and operating without insurance.
Nelson was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
