A Hudson Valley man was charged with attempted murder after the victim was found with a serious stab wound.

Spring Valley Police received multiple reports of a disturbance on South Main Street near Furman Place. The reports said one Hispanic male armed with a knife was chasing at least one other Hispanic male.

Police located the victim near Van Orden Ave and Franklin Street. The unnamed 27-year-old Hispanic male was dealing with a serious stab wound to the left side of his chest. He was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Tomas Lorenzo-Perez was located and arrested at the scene. He was charged with 2nd-degree attempted murder and 1st-degree assault. The suspect is currently being held in police lockup awaiting arraignment in Spring Valley Justice Court.
