A Hudson Valley college was placed on lock-down for over 2 hours Sunday night after students reported a man with a gun was seen at a barbecue on campus.

In an email sent around 8:45 p.m., students at SUNY Purchase in Westchester were told to stay inside due to a “possible armed suspect” that was seen on campus before running into the woods.

According to the New York Daily News, students said an unidentified man was acting weird at a barbecue, asking for weed and alcohol.

At 11:18 p.m., the university sent another email saying “the campus has been reported secure at this point.” Officials say no shots were fired. No arrests have been announced.

Normal classes resumed at SUNY Purchase Monday. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
