The Saugerties Police Department is investigating ten vehicle larcenies that have taken place during overnight hours in the past two days.  The ten reported crimes took place in the village and in each instance, an unlocked car was rummaged through.

A vehicle parked on Latham Circle has resulted in two handguns, ammunition and other valuable being taken. A .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a .38 caliber revolver, both loaded, were taken from the vehicle. The bag that they were contained in also contained extra ammunition for the weapons.

Taken along with the firearms was a "Retired Police" ID card in the name of Chief Gregory M. Hulbert, a retired Chief's badge issued by the Saugerties Police Department, and a pistol permit.

The police department is seeking the public's help in identifying the individual(s) responsible for the larcenies and getting the guns off of the street.  Anyone with information is urged to contact the Saugerties Police at 845-246-9800.
