Ridglan Farm Closes As Remaining Beagles Rescued

Over the last few months animal activist were working diligently to help rescue thousands of beagles from an alleged testing facility.

Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin was believed to be a breeding facility where 2,000 beagles were kept in deplorable conditions. The website nonhumanrights.org explain further stating

Historically, there have been approximately 2,000 beagles kept in cruel conditions at a puppy mill and biomedical facility in Wisconsin called Ridglan Farms.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA, is reporting that Ridglan Farms is officially closing.

Ridglan Farm has agreed to "shut down both its breeding and testing operations." They will also be releasing their remaining dogs for adoption.

SPCA Westchester is stepping up to help get those remaining dogs forever homes.

SPCA Westchester Welcomes More Rescued Beagles

Back in May 2026, activists were able to free 1,000 beagles from Ridglan Farm.

Dog rescues across the nation jumped in to help find those beagles their forever homes, including SPCA Westchester. In May the rescue took in 10 of the rescued beagles.

SPCA Westchester explains that the video above was "one of their first moments of freedom and love."

How to Help Rescue Beagles in New York

When the SPCA Westchester first welcomed the rescue beagles back in May, we learned that the dogs would need medical care and rehabilitation.

They also would need time to decompress after everything they had been through at Ridglan.

The same goes for the 16 new rescues. With that, they will be available for adoption in the near future.

SPCA Westchester adds "Please consider a donation towards their rehabilitation and medical care."

You can make donations, apply to adopt and learn more at SPCAWestchester.org.
