Woman Arrested for Entering Hudson Valley Prison With Pills, Police Say
Police arrested a woman who they say entered the Fishkill Correctional Facility with an assortment of prescription pills.
New York State Police from the Wappingers charged 43-year-old, Rachel J. Sime, of Brooklyn with 1st-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
Police say Sime entered the Fishkill Correctional Facility on Saturday to visit an inmate while in possession of numerous prescription pills.
Sime was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Court and she was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. She is due back in court on March 23.
New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision K-9 Unit.
