The woman that is accused of driving drunk and fatally hitting a Hudson Valley man as he walked back to school is on suicide watch.

Emma Fox’s lawyer said that the 24-year-old from Rye has been acting extremely distraught and remorseful since the fatal accident. The attorney requested that Fox be placed on suicide watch, reports ABC.

Robby Schartner, 21, of Fishkill was walking back to Manhattanville College when he was fatally hit by car around 5 a.m. Sunday in White Plains.

Fox is accused of hitting Schartner and driving away for tree blocks before pulling over to look at the damage and call authorities.

Fox was charged with vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI. Her blood alcohol level was 0.21, almost three times over the legal limit, police say.

Schartner played college lacrosse at Manhattanville. His college bio says he’s from Brookfield, Connecticut and attended high school in Brookfield. Many media outlets, including NBC, reports that Westchester County Police say Schartner is from Fiskhill.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday at the Manhattanville College Chapel.

GoFundMe page was started to help support Schartner’s family. The page has  raised over $14,000.
