
SP: Dutchess Man Breaks Into New York Home, Sexually Assaults One
A man was arrested in Dutchess County for allegedly breaking into a house to sexually assault a victim.

On Thursday, New York State Police from the Dover barracks arrested 54-year-old Thomas E. Ryan of Lagrange for criminal sex act in the 1st degree, a class B felony, burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and sexual abuse in the 1st degree, a class D felony.
On November 1, 2021, at approximately 10:50 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence in the town of Amenia for a report of a burglary in progress.
The investigation determined Thomas Ryan illegally entered the residence through a window and sexually assaulted the victim, police say. More details about the arrest have not been released.
Ryan was arraigned before the town of Dover Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
