
Tillson Restaurant To Open Sister Restaurant in New Paltz
You may or may not recall me telling you last year in August about Village Pizza closing down. It was a family-run business that many people chose as their pizza location. They also served ice cream.
New Restaurant Opening in Old Village Pizza Building in New Paltz, NY
When Village Pizza closed, many people speculated who and what might fill the building located at 81 North Chestnut directly across from the New Paltz Stewarts Shop. Well, fast forward to June 2025, and we can confirm the food, ice cream, and fun will be returning to the location.

Darlings Roadhouse, which opened three years ago in Tillson, New York, not too far up the road, has announced that Shorites, their sister restaurant, will be opening on June 27th. Darlings recently shared on social media that they were celebrating year 3 with their OGs, and the family keeps growing. They also showed off a new sign.

Now we know for sure that when Darlings says the family is growing, they are referring to Shorties in New Paltz. The official opening of Shorties for the public will be Friday, June 27th; however, if it looks like they are open sooner, it is just them getting ready for their new customers by hosting some private events for family and friends.
What is Shorties In New Paltz, New York
Shorties does plan to have friends and family in Shorties leading up to the opening, so they can try out everything before the new customers walk through the door. The only thing on the Shorties website so far says Patio - Bar - Food - Pinball. However, I did see what might be one offering on their Instagram account.
The picture above caused one person to comment that they hope Shorties will be serving what they want; they are asking for Shorties to do a Chicago dog with fixings and cheese tots on the side.
