A teenager jailed in the Hudson Valley is accused of being in possession of a homemade knife in his jail cell.

Detectives from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office charged 19-year-old Anthony E. Jackson, of Kingston for 1st-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office recently received a report that an inmate at the Ulster County Jail was in possession of homemade knife, or “shank”.

Following an investigation conducted by Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Detectives in conjunction with Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officers Jackson was allegedly found to be in possession of the homemade knife inside his cell.

Jackson remains incarcerated at the Ulster County Jail on an unrelated charge, and will be arraigned in the City of Kingston Court at a later date.
