A family was bound and held at gunpoint by three men in ski masks during a terrifying home invasion, the Ellenville Police Department said.

Three armed men forcibly entered a Backman Avenue apartment in Ellenville on Thursday at 10:15PM. They pistol-whipped a man in the household and then bound him. A woman in the home was bound in a separate room. Three children ages 8 to 11 years were also bound and held at gunpoint. A 1-year-old was also in the home at the time of the armed robbery.

The Ellenville Police Department said the family was held for an hour, with the suspects repeatedly threatening to harm them. The suspects stole an undetermined amount of cash and property before fleeing to a waiting vehicle.

The suspects are described as a thin Hispanic man about 5 feet 9 inches tall; a black or Hispanic man about 5 feet 7 inches tall; and a thin Hispanic man about 5 feet 11 inches tall.

The Ellenville Police Department and the New York State Police are investigating the incident. Ellenville police asked anyone with information to contact them at 845-647-4422.
