Newburgh Triple-Homicide Suspect Sentenced For 2016 Arrest

The man accused of killing three family members from a Newburgh home and critically injuring a 3-year-old was sentenced for an unrelated charge.

On Sept. 1, 2016, Kaliek Goode-Ford of Newburgh was charged by the City of Newburgh Police Department with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, and a misdemeanor count for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At the time of his arrest, the now 30-year-old was in possession of a loaded gun, 100 decks of heroin, 33.40 grams of crack cocaine and 16 additional rounds of ammunition, police say.

According to NewsSource, Goode-Ford has been out on $30,000 bond. He was sentenced on Tuesday to seven years in prison for the 2016 arrest.

Police believe Goode-Ford was the lone shooter who killed Jimmy Crisantos, 27, Shatavia Crisantos, 26, and 9-year-old Giovanni Tambino, Shatavia’s son from a previous relationship early Sunday morning in the Town of Newburgh. Another victim, the couple's 3-year-old son remains in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the Town of Newburgh Police Department, Goode-Ford knew the victims, but a motive remains unclear. A GoFundMe was started to help the surviving members of the Crisantos family.
