Michael Ferretti Jr., a Goshen Resident, Dies at 55
Michael Ferretti Jr. of Goshen, NY formerly of Hartsdale, NY, a Treatment Plant Operator for the Town of Greenburgh Water Dept. and a 25 year area resident, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was 55. The son of Victoria (Spadaro) Ferretti and the late Michael Ferretti Sr., he was born April 22, 1961 in White Plains. He married Paula (Gregory) Ferretti on April 24, 1993.
Michael was a graduate of Woodlands High School in Hartsdale, NY, and was a member of Knights of Columbus #1106 in Goshen, GIS After School Program Slot Car Club, and Relay for Life in Rhinebeck. Michael was a loving, caring, and kind person. He was a devoted husband and best friend to the love of his life Paula. He was a proud father who cherished his daughter, Samantha. Michael was loved by his family who took every opportunity to spend time with him which he thoroughly enjoyed. Family was important to him. His best friends were friends for life. Michael always had a great story or joke. He would carry on a conversation with a perfect stranger to make them feel welcome and make a new friend! He was a giving member of the community volunteering to help wherever he was needed and whomever needed him. Whether it be his wife and daughter, his family, or someone stranded on the side of the road, he could be counted on to save the day, always. He lived every day to the fullest and was taken from us too soon.
In addition to his mother Victoria and his wife Paula, he is survived by his daughter, Samantha Ferretti of Goshen; siblings, Gilda Salhuana (John) of Armonk, Victoria Gunther (Brian) of Yorktown Hgts., Joann Ferretti-Reed (Jimmy) of Newburgh, Michelle Collins (Timmy) of Yorktown Hgts; nieces & nephews Matthew and Tina Salhuana (Lila, Logan, Leah), Elizabeth Salhuana and Tom Power (Aaron), Jojo Salhuana, Lauren and Tony Severino, Steven Gunther, Domenico and James Reed, Timothy & Ryan Collins, Dennis Jr. and Stephanie Gregory (Taylor, Lauren, Maddyn, and Camryn), Alexis and Skye Gregory and Romero Williams.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Friday, January 20 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am on Saturday, January 21 at St. John’s Church, Goshen, with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
