We Need One of These in the Hudson Valley

Would anyone else like to see one of these amazing places open up in the Hudson Valley?

If you have ever taken a trip to another part of the country oftentimes you will go to a business/store/restaurant that you've never been to before and after you go you ask yourself why don't we have one of these in the Hudson Valley. It happened to me numerous times and after every time, I come home and try to figure out why we don't have one.

Why Doesn't the Hudson Valley Have These?

Over the years there have been numerous places we've talked about, from Piggly Wigley's, and Jimmy John's, to one of the biggest convenience stores in the world Buc-ee's. All are great places but after a weekend trip to Long Island, New York last weekend I think I found a business that the whole Hudson Valley would love to see take up some real estate.

Top Golf in New York

If you are a golfer you might have already heard about Top Golf, but up until last weekend, I hadn't heard much about it. I by no means consider myself a good golfer so when I was looking for something to do while on Long Island last weekend and came across Top Golf I wasn't sure if it would be something we (my kids and I) would enjoy doing. When I asked them if they'd like to try it out they informed me that they've gone before and enjoyed it...LOL! Ok then...so I booked at bay at the Holtsville, Long Island location (5231 Express Dr N Holtsville, NY) and after playing for two hours I have to say we need to get one of these in the Hudson Valley!

Top Golf in the Hudson Valley?

At first, I was skeptical to do an activity like golf half inside and half outside in the middle of winter (they are climate controlled...LOL) but WOW, we had so much fun. If you've never tried Top Golf it's a high-tech golf game that doesn't require players to be good at golf to have fun and that's exactly why it was so much fun...LOL! My kids and I played a bunch of games like Block Party, and Angry Birds where all you need to do is hit a golf ball off a tee box and watch the TV screens to see how many points you get. My kids beat me every game but honestly, mixed with the food and atmosphere it was something I would love to see open closer to home. How about you?

Best Locations for a Top Golf in the Hudson Valley

If Top Golf was to open a location in the Hudson Valley where do you think they should open? I've come up with two locations near where I live in Poughkeepsie that I think would be perfect and both of them at one time or another had golf there before. My first suggestion is on De Garmo Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY where the go-kart tracks used to be...

I'm not sure if the location is still for sale but think it would be a perfect spot for a Top Golf. The other location that would work in Dutchess County is at the old Dutchess Golf Club off of Route 9 in Poughkeepsie...
