The ashes of the dog that died in an Upstate, New York crash in November has returned home.

Plane Carrying Rescue Dogs Crashes in Upstate, New York

Last week, on November 25th, 2024, the Green County Sheriff's Office shared on social media that they were investigation a plane crash in the Town of Windham.

It was then announced that the pilot of the plane, Suek Kim of Virginia had died in the crash.

Later on we would learn that Kim was transporting 3 dogs on their "Freedom Ride" to an Albany area animal rescue. Sadly, along with Kim 1 of the dogs also died in the crash.

Victims of Windham, New York Plane Crash to Be Memorialized Together

On Sunday night, December 1st, the Pilots N Paws organization shared "The mission has come full circle" as they explain that the ashes of Lisa the small puppy who died in the plane crash was to be reunited with Kim.

According to Pilots N Paws "Seuk and Lisa will be memorialized together" in "a bittersweet reunion." Virginia Pilot Chris Moon took on the mission to bring Lisa's ashes to Seuk Kim's family.

News 10ABC spoke with Moon who shared that he was with Kim hours before his death on Sunday November 24th, 2024. Moon told News 10 "I was actually with him Sunday when we were both doing dog flights he took off to come up here and I took off in a different direction.”

Emotional Reunion With Seuk Kim's Family

On Monday morning, December 2nd, Pilots N Paws shared the emption reunion as Lisa's ashes were handed to Seuk Kim's youngest son.

The organization adds that Lisa will be buried alongside the Kim families beloved miniature poodle in their backyard. Kim's daughter Leah is quoted as saying "“Just having Lisa nearby brings us all comfort.”

Seuk Kim will be laid to rest on December 5th, 2024. His obituary reads "Seuk was more than just a pilot; he was a champion for others, a friend to all, and a deeply loved member of his family."

A fundraiser has been set up to provide assistance for his surviving family.

An Update on The Other Dogs Injured in NY Plane Crash

The 2 other dogs that were on board with Kim and Lisa when the plane crashed in Windham are on their journey to recover.

Whiskey is a 4-month old Lab mix who broke 2 legs in the tragic accident. Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, Connecticut has been caring for Whiskey and just shared that the pup has "successfully come through his surgeries to repair his two broken legs."

Pluto is a 1.5 year old Yorkie Terrier mix and at the time of the crash was evaluated a Capital District Veterinary Hospital. According to reports Pluto suffered from  pulmonary contusions and internal and external bruising." Thankfully, it's being reported that Pluto "is recovering well."
