I thought this went without saying....

I'm not sure what it is, but it just seems like driving around the Hudson Valley has become more complicated and people have become BAD drivers. It can't just be me who has noticed this...people are driving way too fast, horribly, have worse road rage and seem to be following the rules of the road less and less.

I was driving around the other day in Beekman and was stopped at one of the MANY, MANY, MANY lights here in the Hudson Valley. I took a good look at the sign, and literally started shaking my head because of how ridiculous it seemed.

What crazy sign is here in the Hudson Valley?

I was at the intersection patiently waiting, looked up and saw the sign said WAIT FOR GREEN LIGHT right near the traffic light.

Come on....I actually laughed out loud because of how crazy it is that we need to have a sign like that to remind people of the basic rules of the road. Having that sign up has me very concerned about the people who drive in the Hudson Valley.

I thought, is this a joke? Is there another hidden meaning behind that sign? I also wondered how many people must have blown through this light to make this sign needed.

It seems like it's not just here that has some weird road signs. I looked up some other funny signs on the road that are across the country and it turns out there are a few good ones that stand out:

  • IF YOU HIT THIS, YOU'LL HIT THE BRIDGE
  • AIRPLANE CROSSING
  • KEEP RIGHT (but the arrow is pointing to the left)
  • SOMETHING THIS WAY
  • SIGN NOT IN USE

So it really does get worse.
