Nissan & Jeep Engulf in Flames in Fishkill Parking Lot
Local community members who happened to be near the incident as it was happening reported that people volunteered to help move vehicles after the fire started. Optum employees shared that they were able to see the flames from the windows of the adjacent medical buildings.
Many people commenting on the post and photos of the blaze automatically assumed that it was an electric vehicle that had ignited, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
First-hand reports (shared in the East Fishkill Community Forum) allege that it was an employee's car that was on fire and that the blaze began in the 'silver Nissan Murano' first, and due to the winds, ended up igniting the red Jeep parked next to it.
No additional details have been released regarding the cause of the fire in the first vehicle, but we will provide an update as this story develops.
