A Hudson Valley woman who fatally ran over her longtime rival is going to spend a number of years in jail.

In May, 36-year-old Carla Scott of Mount Vernon was found guilty by a jury trial of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident which results in death.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, on April 18, 2015, Scott, who was parked at the corner of Warburton and Babcock Avenues in Yonkers, drove her 2009 Mercedes Benz into Glynis Pinto, who was standing in front of her car.

Pinto was launched onto the car’s hood. Scott continued to drive with Pinto hanging onto the hood for about 30 yards. Pinto was pushed backwards onto the road and then ran over by Scott's car.

Pinto sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries causing her death.

Scott fled the scene. She was arrested a few days later after a joint effort by the Westchester County District Attorney’s office, the Yonkers Police Department and FBI developed information regarding the defendant’s whereabouts.

Tuesday, in Westchester County Court, Scott was sentence to 25 years in prison.
