Hudson Valley Teen, Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud

A Hudson Valley teen and a woman living at the same home were both accused of stealing over $4,000 in welfare fraud.

Recently, Danielle Boisvert, 37, of Kingston and an 18-year-old at the same address were arrested by Ulster County Sheriff's Deputies and charged with felony welfare fraud.

An investigation conducted by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit, along with the Office of the Ulster County District Attorney, found that Boisvert and the teen billed the Department of Social Services for daycare hours between July 2018 and December 2018, which had not been provided, police say.

Boisvert is also accused of not disclosing her household income. Due to the undisclosed income and false billing, Boisvert and the teen received $4,073.22 in daycare benefits they were not entitled to, officials say.
