Hudson Valley Teen Accused of Robbing Two Local Banks
Police believe they cracked the case into two recent robberies at local banks. A Hudson Valley teen is the alleged suspect.
On Wednesday at 6 a.m., Town of Newburgh S.W.A.T., with help from New York State Police and the Plattekill Police Department, conducted a search warrant at a home on Ellen Street in Plattekill.
Following an investigation by the Town of Newburgh Police Detective Bureau and State Police, 19-year-old Steven Klein was arrested for allegedly robbing two Town of Newburgh banks over the past two months.
Klein is accused of robbing the Wells Fargo Bank on North Plank Road on January 10 and the M&T Bank on Route 9W on March 1.
Police didn’t say how their investigation or the search warrant led to the teen’s arrest.
Kline was charged with two counts of third-degree robbery. He is being held pending arraignment in Town of Newburgh Court.
