Hudson Valley Man Accused of Christmas Burglary

Following a nearly two-year investigation, a Hudson Valley man is accused of committing a Christmas day burglary.

On Thursday, New York State Police at Middletown announced the arrest of Brian Conklin, 24, of Yonkers following an investigation into burglaries that occurred during December 2016.

On December 21, 2016, and Christmas day 2016, troopers responded to activated burglar alarms a the Otisville Gulfmart convenience store.

On both dates, troopers found the front door had been kicked in. Cash registers, cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets were taken during both crimes, police say. However, an initial investigation failed to produce any suspects.

In November, new information was developed that identified Conklin as the suspect in both cases. Police didn't release details into their investigation.

Conklin was charged with two counts of felony burglary. He was arraigned in the Town of Mount Hope Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond.
