Now that summer is over and outdoor dining is going to be put on hold until next year it is time to start thinking about where to eat for the fall. So many beautiful locations in the Hudson Valley come with a place to enjoy a meal. This time of year you want to take in the crisp air and the beautiful colors so I put together a quick list of where you can do that and enjoy a meal.

Shadows on the Hudson - Open everyday for dining on the East side of the Hudson River just south of Poughkeepsie. Shadow's offers amazing food, spectacular views of the West side of the Hudson and their extensive menu guarantees something for everyone.

Mountain Brauhaus Restaurant - Located just west of New Paltz at the base of the Shawangunk Ridge where Route 44/55 and Route 299 meet, this gem of a place offers food that will satisfy everyone from day hikers to culinary enthusiasts. Said to be some of the best German food in the Valley and they offer you an up close view of the Ridge.

The Tavern at Diamond Mills - Located in the lower part of Saugerties on the falls this refurbished mill turned restaurant and inn is the perfect place to enjoy a fall Sunday brunch or a seasonal dinner. You'll enjoy the village of Saugerties and the stunning view of the falls as it flows past the restaurant out to the Hudson River.

Try these three places as the leaves turn and I will be back with another list later in the month that offer warm cozy meal for cold weather.
