It may still be August, but you have surely seen all the Halloween-themed items popping up at some Hudson Valley locations. Lowes has the giant Halloween lawn deco up and ready for purchase. Even the grocery stores are putting out Halloween-themed candy.

People Are Already Planning Halloween

I figured if Halloween is rolling in before fall is actually on the calendar, I can certainly put some events on your radar that will be coming up in October. Let's face it, October gets busy quickly, so it helps if you can make a plan. I found two events scheduled for October 18th, so depending on what you want to do, you may already be double-booked.

Barton Orchard Will Hold a Boos and Brews Event this October

The first event is at Barton Orchard in Poughquag. Boos and Brews Weekend is planned to be a wickedly good time on October 18th and 19th, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM. There will be seasonal brews that include 56 craft beers and hard ciders, not to mention delicious fall food. Yes, they will have those heavenly apple cider donuts.

Plan to enjoy Rotten Core Manor Haunted House, the Foggy Fortress maze, the Fun Park with the Mega Slide, pedal go-karts, mini golf, apple cannons, and cow train. They have also planned live music, lawn games, and dog-friendly fun at the Bark Park. Barton is billing it as the perfect blend of fall fun, frights, and flavorful drinks. Hudson House Distillery to Hold A Transylvania-Themed Murder Mystery Dinner

Another event happening that weekend, on October 18th, is going to be just as exciting. You can travel west from Barton Orchards about 25 miles to the Hudson House Distillery in West Park, New York, for a thrilling mystery dinner.  A Wedding in Transylvania Murder Mystery is planned overlooking the Hudson River.

Enjoy a three-course dinner served in one of the Hudson Valley's many popular distilleries. Hudson House is the perfect setting for a murder with its exciting past and its location along the Hudson River in West Park.
