Funeral Set For Hudson Valley Sailor Killed In Overseas Crash
A Hudson Valley sailor who was killed in an overseas crash is being laid to rest, his funeral with full military honors is open to the public.
Funeral services with full military honors is for Corey George Ingram, 28, an Information Systems Technician 2nd Class from Poughkeepsie is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie.
Parking will be available in the City of Poughkeepsie Parking across from the Civic Center and on Cranell Street. A burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
Ingram was one of 10 sailors who died when the USS John McCain collided with an oil tanker near Singapore. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Ingram is a graduate of Krieger Elementary, Poughkeepsie Middle, Poughkeepsie High School and attended Dutchess Community College. He was an active member for the U.S. Navy for the last nine years.
Donations towards a scholarship fund in honor if Ingram can be made to the VFW Post 170 at 1 Violet Ave. in Poughkeepsie.
