Edward Elmer “Ed” Ayres, a Kingston Resident, Dies at 84
Edward Elmer "Ed" Ayres, 84, of Kingston, passed peacefully June 1, 2017 at Hudson Valley Nursing Center, Highland. He was born August 7, 1932 in Milton, the son of the late Elmer and Edna (Smith) Ayres. He was the husband of the late Angeline Mautone Ayres, who was the love of his life. Edward served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had worked for IBM Kingston until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and the Kingston American Legion Post #150
Ed was an avid NY Mets fan, and reveled in their 1969 World Series championship. He also enjoyed watching western movies and listening to country music.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ayres, a granddaughter, Sinclair Edan Avramis and a son in law, James Avramis. He was predeceased by a brother, William Ayres and sisters Bertha DuBois and Florence Ramos
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Friends may call on Saturday, June 10th from 10AM - 12Noon at the funeral home. The services will be at 12 noon. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston with military honors provided by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.
