A drunk man led police on a multi-state 100 MPH chase that began in Orange County.

Recently members of the Port Jervis Police Department responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the area of the city commonly known as The Acre. Police located the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop. During the stop the operator, identified as 37-year-old Igor Sarkisov, of Brooklyn allegedly fled and led officers on a pursuit through several streets in Port Jervis at high rates of speed.

Sarkisov continued to flee and elude officers as he entered into Pennsylvania. Port Jervis Officers maintained pursuit and were joined by units from both Eastern Pike Regional Police and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Officials say Sarkisov attempted to force at least one Port Jervis Police Unit off of the road during the pursuit.

After his car hit a guardrail on Pike County Route 101 Sarkisov was finally arrested. He was transported to Bon Secours Community Hospital where he was treated and released to the custody of the Port Jervis Police Department.

An investigation revealed that Sarkisov is on parole for a previous DWI conviction. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, two counts of 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, 1st-degree reckless driving, felonies, 3rd-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, circumventing an ignition interlock device, 2nd-degree and 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and reckless driving, misdemeanors.

Sarkisov was also issued 19 traffic tickets for various violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. He was arraigned in Port Jervis City Court and remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on no bail.

Sarkisov also faces charges in Pennsylvania.
