Two people were allegedly found driving in the Hudson Valley on Interstate 84 with three loaded guns and drugs.

On Thursday, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 28-year-old Careem C. Campbell and 24-year-old Ashley L. Mann, both of Danbury, Connecticut.

Campbell was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony, and criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Mann was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

State Police stopped their Honda Civic on Interstate 84 for allegedly failing to maintain its lane of travel.

After detecting the odor of weed, police asked the driver, Campbell, to exit the vehicle. An investigation discovered that Campbell unlawfully possessed two loaded handguns, police say.

A passenger in the vehicle, Mann, is accused of also possessing a loaded handgun. Neither party had a permit in New York State to carry the firearms, officials say.

Troopers also allegedly discovered approximately 110 grams of marijuana in the car.

Both defendants were arraigned in the Village of Brewster Justice Court. Campbell was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and Mann was remanded on $1,000 cash bail. Both parties are scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on at a future date.
